Wildlife Warriors Head to the USA
The CARE team
What a fantastic result for two of our enthusiastic Future Problem Solving teams which have made it through to the International FPS finals next year in the USA.
Five College teams had earned a place in the National FPS finals held last weekend at the University of Melbourne.
The event attracted 500 of Australia’s top problem-solving students, so it was a credit to the quality of our students’ work that their projects earned a place in the International event.
Saving wildlife is the common theme this year between the two campuses, with our PAW (Protection of Australian Wildlife) team finding favor with the judges for its commitment to help reintroduce platypuses to the Toomuc Creek.
The PAW team
And from the Berwick Campus, CARE (Cardinia Ranger Animals Rescue Experts) has worked hard to stop native Australian wildlife dying on Cardinia Shire roads, by the use of road signs and alerts on GPS navigators.
Well done to all teams who made it to the National event. Congratulations to team PAW; Kristen W, Shamira P, Shae W, Patrick R, Liam G, Bridget M, Tess F (who celebrated her birthday on the weekend) and coach Jodie Doble.
Congratulations also to Team CARE; Charlotte T, Maddison H, Stephanie M, Madeline S and coach Evonne Diprose. Best of luck for the International FPS Finals next year!
