Our snowboarders showed their style on the slopes last week taking out first place in the Boarder Cross event at the 2010 Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships.

The division 3 team, comprising Jake S (Year 7 Berwick Campus) and Lachlan W (Year 7 Pakenham Campus), took the top prize in sensational snow conditions at Mt Buller.

Lachlan W qualified to compete in the snowboard Boarder Cross event at the National Championships by earning an individual ninth place.

Jake and Lachlan also qualified to compete at the National Championships after placing fifth in the Snowboard GS. Lachlan came eighth individually in this event.

The National Interschools Snowsports Championships will be held in Perisher, NSW on Wednesday 8th to Sunday, 12th September.

Head of Outdoor Education (Berwick Campus) Sam Maddock said the results were outstanding.

“This is great news for Beaconhills College Snowsports and these two ‘shredders’ have a lot of potential,” Mr Maddock said.
