Year 8 Beaconhills College student Caitlyn McCormick hopes to compete in the Olympics one day following her bronze medal win in shotput at the Athletics Australia Championships last weekend.

Caity threw 11.51m in her under 13 age group to claim third place. She also placed sixth in discus with a personal best of 36.47m.

On her bronze medal win, Caity said “I just tried to get my technique correct – and the main thing was just to relax.” She thanked her parents and coach Erik for their support.
