Career Highlights

Haley wins the Zatopek Classic in 2001 Haley McGregor representing the College at SIS Athletics
  • Attended Beaconhills College from 1991 to 1996 (Years 7-12)
  • Broke many College Athletics records during this time (x12) – she still holds eight College Athletics records from 100m to 1500m plus two relays
  • Victorian Kayak champion in TK1 and TK2 classes over 200m, 500, & 1000m in 1993
  • Won Kayak TK2 in the Red Cross Murray Marathon in 1994
  • Held a VIS Kayaking scholarship from 1993 to 1995
  • Elected College Captain for 1996
  • In 1999 finished 3rd in the Australian 1500m championship
  • In 2002 she was a surprise winner of a Grand Prix 5000m race over Benita Johnson
  • Competed at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002 in the 5000m and finished 11th
  • Competed at the World Cross Country Championships in 2002 and finished a very creditable 30th
  • In 2003 she won the prestigious Sydney City-to-Surf- race and the National Cross Country title
  • Won the Zatopek Clasic over 10,000m at Olympic Park in 2003 and 2004
  • Selected for the Athens Olympics in 2004 in the 10,000 metres track event, where she finished 30th in the final
  • Ran her first marathon in the USA in 2005 and finished 2nd
  • Currently training for the marathon at the Beijing Olympics in 2008
