  • Attended Beaconhills College from 1988 to 1993 (Years 7-12).
  • Elected Millett House Captain in 1993.
  • SRC President in 1993 after being an SRC member for four years at the College.
  • Initiated the College House animal mascots with the ‘Millett Moose’ – organised special T-shirts for all Millett House members in 1993.
  • Enrolled at Monash University in 1994 to undertake a Commerce degree – joined the university newspaper editorial committee.
  • Established his own internet business, ‘maxmoose.com’, reviewing and promoting Melbourne’s nightspots.
  • Elected to the City of Casey Council in 2000 as representative for the Springfield Ward (Narre Warren South, Narre Warren, Berwick & Cranbourne North) defeating 8 other candidates – at 24 years of age, he was one of Victoria’s youngest local government representatives.
  • Served as a City of Casey Councillor for two terms/five years before his ‘retirement’ in 2005.
  • During this time Ben was on the Board of the Mornington Peninsula Westernport Biosphere project; chaired the Casey’s Conservation Advisory Committee; and chaired the Council’s General Purposes Committee.
  • Ben is currently still involved in his local community as President of the Board at the Narre Community Learning Centre and as an executive committee member of the Narre Warren South Carols by Candlelight.
